Pick up the bikes and set off on the greenway, part of the Vélodyssée between Saint-Gilles Croix de Vie and the Barre de Monts: 18km of route in the national forest, magnificent panoramas from the Vendée Corniche on the Saint-Gilles side and Saint-Hilaire. A breakaway to the island of Noirmoutiers is also possible by going up towards Fromentine.

The area is accessible 24/7 via an automatic access point.

The area is located near a free car park of about 250 spaces, managed by the Tourist Office, making access easier while limiting impact on natural areas. Seasonal activities and a children’s club provide a good balance between relaxation and conviviality.

The Parée du Jonc beach stands out for its wilder character compared to many other tourist beaches: bordered by dunes and protected by woods, it maintains an intimate atmosphere, perfect for moments of contemplation, fishing, or quiet reading.
- In summer, swimming is supervised, enhancing the tranquillity of the area.
- Dogs are allowed all year round on a lead.
- Horses are permitted outside the peak summer season under certain conditions.
Immersion in the Coastal Forest
The area is bordered by the state forest, a typical wooded expanse of the Vendée coastline. This pine forest offers shaded trails, walking paths, and above all the Vélodyssée, an iconic cycle route that crosses the forest.
