Camping site La Sirène Reviews

Argelès sur mer, Pyrénées Orientales

From Caroline

Argelès-sur-mer - Pyrénées Orientales

It was following a television report that we chose this destination, and more particularly this campsite: La Sirène***** located in Argelès-sur-Mer, in Occitanie.
We are a family made up of 3 children aged 14, 8 and 4 and the exceptional aquatic complex really attracted us! We had booked a 6-seater Luxury 3-bedroom mobile home so that everyone could have their living space, very well equipped (wifi possible on each pitch, a sine qua none condition for our 14-year-old teenager) and with its south-facing terrace, a real joy !

Covered aquatic are

Our stay took place in April, and to be sure of being able to use the aquatic area at this time of year, we looked for a campsite with an indoor swimming pool.
This campsite does not have one but two covered and heated swimming pools, a fairly rare service in the south of France! The children had a great time all week, also taking advantage of the slides, climbing wall, water jets, lagoon and water games!
I really appreciated the paddling pool for my little one who bathed in complete safety and was also able to try his hand at the small slide.

Argelès campsite with entertainment

The children also spent a lot of time at the "sportippo", a multi-sports ground (city stadium, table tennis, beach volleyball, pétanque, etc.) allowing them to let off steam but also to make friends. They were also able to take advantage of the children's club for the cadets and the teen club for my eldest.
The entertainment team is very competent and professional, I left my children safe. My husband was not left out and was able to perfect his figure thanks to the campsite's gym, while I took part in the aquabike course. As you will have understood, the activities are diverse and varied and for each member of the family !
We were pleasantly surprised by the evenings organized at this time, we did not expect so many events in April. From karaoke evenings to concerts, the performance hall is worthy of the greatest Parisian halls! the last evening, in order to end our vacation in style, we decide to test the catering of the campsite, the choice was rather long and difficult between the three restaurants offered (Italian, Thai cuisine, or even the Mermaid Beach with beach atmosphere).

Around La Sirène campsite in Argelès

Of course, despite the incredible number of activities offered in the campsite, we also wanted to discover this region that was still unknown to us, starting with the sea. The campsite is located just 900 meters from the beach (with free shuttle in July and August) also accessible by bike paths or on foot (we tested, about 10 to 15 minutes max).
My biggest dreamed of discovering BARCELONA, we were only 2 hours away; we therefore left very early in the morning in order to be able to make the most of this magnificent city. An essential stop at the Camp Nou stadium then a visit to Parc Guell without forgetting the tasting of a paella for lunch and finally a stroll on the ramblas. An unforgettable day under the Spanish sun!
After this long day, we stayed rather around the campsite where many sites are worth a detour. We took the wine route to reach Collioure. On site, we went on a “cruise” to enjoy a magnificent view of the vermilion coast, another fabulous day.
For our last day, we went to visit the port of Argelès, its Catalan boats and its auction. We therefore took the opportunity to buy our fresh fish that had just arrived at the dock and discussed with the local fishermen, it is always very enriching to have these conversations with the locals.
As you will have understood, we had a wonderful holiday and we are thinking of returning there soon to visit the land and more particularly the Cathar castles !
